Mile of Miles Relays

Invite to enter team(s) into the Mile of Miles Relay

As last years winners Totton running club are hosting the Mile of miles relay event this year. The event will be at Applemore college on the 29th June at 7:00pm. Details of the invite copied below:

All RR10 Clubs
Apologies for the delay in sending out this invitation but our plans to host the 10 mile Relay at the Southampton Sports Centre were foiled by several issues (which I'll pass on to the the winning Club!).
Instead we'll be using the 400m grass track behind Applemore College (SO45 4RQ) which is reached by driving past the entrances to both Tescos and Applemore Recreation Centre to turn a left hand bend onto Roman Road. Beware of the speed bumps within the college and park inside the tennis courts beyond the main school buildings as there will be evening classes underway. Applemore Recreation Centre can be used for overspill parking.
The entrance to the sports field is from the north east corner of the tennis courts. Please try to car share.
There will be the usual entry fee of £10 per team with any profit going to a charity in memory of our belated coach, Terry Burton.
Please let me know by return and ASAP how many teams you wish to enter and whether they will be Mixed (minimum of 2 Ladies) or a full Ladies team.
Remember that there must be ten different runners per team otherwise that team result will be 'non competitive'.
Each team is responsible for recording the 'metric mile' (4 laps) times for each of the 10 runners and the overall time for the team. We will have the Hardley race clock at the finish/handover line but it's recommended that each team uses a stopwatch with at least 10 lap memories for recording.
Those individual and team times and runner's names will be required in electronic format ASAP after the race so that full results can be shared with all of the clubs.
A template for the Time sheets is attached for your use in planning race order and recording your times. Handwritten results will not be accepted unless someone else is prepared to take over trying to decipher them!
Handovers will be by a hand touch but NOT in either Lanes 1 or 2.
The A326 is busy in the early evening so please leave enough time for your journey as we would like to start promptly at 7pm.
We look forward to early notification of your teams as it has been suggested that the event should be opened up to all of the Hampshire Road Race League clubs. That will depend upon the number of entries from RR10 clubs.
Best regards
Mick
