Despite having snow and sleet on the drive up to Bramley conditions when the race started were good if rather cold. For the 3 Team Southampton runners in the 20 mile race this was a chance to test how well the marathon training had been going. Very well looking at the times and way the race was run. Safe to say that Vicki was rather apprehensive in the week leading up to her first attempt at running 20 miles but judging by the smile on her face at both the 10 mile and finish the fears were unfounded. After suffering during this race a year ago Becky banished the bad memory by running strongly throughout, taking 7 mins off her previous time and posting a negative split. No pbs in the 10 mile race but I was happy to sneak in under the hour and both Karen and Neil ran well and were pleased with their races.
