Clubs athletes book their places at English schools xc champs.

A number of the clubs young athletes competed yesterday at the South East schools inter-counties xc champs in Bexley in East Sussex.In doing so, some would have secured their places in the Hampshire schools team for the English Schools cross country championships taking place at Wollaton Park in Nottingham on the 6th March.

In the senior boys race, Sam Costley took a fine 5th place with Luke Powell 26th and Charlie Cooper 69th.  For the senior girls, Anna Sharp was 11th, Alana Spiers 22nd and Hannah Polden 28th.

In the intermediate boys race, Lachlan Wellington took revenge on Zak Mahamed’s victory last week in the South of England champs by reversing the fortunes with Zak this time finishing 2nd.  For the intermediate girls, Holly Powell was 46th and Aimee Rayner 53rd.

In the junior boys race, Toby Hale was the first boy home for the county in 9th place and for the junior girls, Izzy Richardson was 11th, Phoebe Moriarty-Palios was 17th and Olivia Reavey 93rd.
