SAC Competing across the Country

Southampton AC athletes were out in force the weekend of 22/23rd February. We had athletes competing from all age groups across indoor Track and Field and cross country from Lee Valley to Nottingham, Sheffield and Glasgow

Starting with the National Cross Country Championships and Zak made it a hat trick of National cross country wins for the Mahamed brothers.

Sheffield played host to the England age group nationals with Amy Wall leading the way with a gold medal in U15W Long Jump. Double medals in the 400m with Thomas Hockley bringing home silver in the U17M race and Jack Higgins taking bronze in the U20M race.

Harry Crosby came 5th in U17M Long Jump while Elektra Langer came 6th in U15W Pole Vault with a new PB performance. The throwers were out in force with multiple medals in Shot Putt, Travis Scottow Silver U15B, Rhys Allen Silver U17M, Andrew Night Silver and Josh Wise 7th and finally Sam Callaway Bronze in U20W.

Further afield in Glasgow Adam Jones represented Southampton AC in the British Indoor Championships with a 7th Place in High Jump. Closer to home we end the weekend with a Bronze place for Derek Warn in the British Masters Pentathlon Championship.
