The Academy

The academy provides athletic coaching for young athletes from school year 4 and is focused on providing a multi-event environment where all athletes benefit from coaching across all athletics disciplines, run, jump and throw.

The academy training

Training days and times

We train every Wednesday from 6.00pm – 7.30pm.

From March – September we train at Southampton Outdoor Sports Centre.
From October – March, we train at Wyvern College, Botley Road, Fair Oak, SO50 7AN.

We split the Wyvern session into two groups. The sessions are 45 minutes outside on the J-track and 45 minutes in the hall.

Joining the academy

The academy is split into two groups, fundamental and foundation. The fundamental group is made up of atheletes from school years 4 & 5. The foundation group is made up of school years 6 & 7 with older athletes progressing to the senior training groups.

If your child is in school year 4 to 7 they can register for the academy waiting list on the online membership system by selecting option “0. School Year 4-7 Academy Waiting List” It is important that you type your child’s details into the system and press save when completed.

You will be sent a welcome email and when a space becomes available your child will be invited for a trial to see if they like it.

If you do not receive a welcome email within two weeks or want to remove your child from the waiting list please email us on: sacacademyinfo@gmail.com.

If your child is not yet in school year 4, you can still register and we will contact you when they are old enough to join the academy.

For academy parents

We have created a code of conduct for parents and carers of children at the academy, which we require you to sign and return to one of the coaches. We have put this process in place as we coach in public spaces and we need to make sure an adult is present at all times.
